The
AnT 4.669 software package has been
developed under a Unix/Linux environment. It has been successfully
tested for
Sun Solaris (versions
2.7, 2.8, 2.9),
as well as for
FreeBSD
and the Linux distributions from
Debian,
Fedora,
SuSE,
Ubuntu.
A port to the
Windows platforms
(Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP) is also available.
In the following, the requirements are listed in detail:
Hardware:
-
Processor: Intel Pentium (or a similar CPU) with 166MHz or higher
-
Memory: 32MB, we suggest at least 64MB
-
Harddisk: 30MB free space for minimal installation
-
Network: In order to distribute scans on several computing nodes
(distributed or grid computing), a network environment is
necessary. The communication between the nodes is based on
TCP/IP sockets, hence your network has to support the TCP/IP
protocol.
Software:
-
A compiler for the language C++ is
necessary. We suggest the GNU
gcc compiler version 4.0.0 or higher. See gcc.gnu.org/onlinedocs
for the online documentation of the gcc compiler. The table
below shows the versions of gcc for which the AnT 4.669 software package was
successfully built.

We would appreciate it very much, if you report to
AnT when you have successfully
built the software package with a gcc version not listed in the
table.

The graphical user interface of the AnT
4.669 software package reqiures the GTK+
toolkit. Currently, the following versions of the gtk+ toolkit are
supported: gtk+ 2.x, gtk+ 1.x. For more information about this
software we refer to the tutorials
GTK+ 2.0 Tutorial and GTK v1.2 Tutorial.
The precompiled version of the GTK+ Runtime Environment for Windows is
available here.
The sources of the GTK+ Runtime Environment for Linux/Solaris
is available here here.

If you want to use he OpenGL
based online visualization of the AnT 4.669
software package the following libraries are required:
OpenGL is a cross-platform
standard for 3D rendering and 3D hardware acceleration. This
software runtime library ships with all Windows, MacOS, Linux
and Unix systems.
-
For Unix/Linux platforms, the source code
of the AnT 4.669 software package
is available. To build and install the software on your system,
the GNU tools
make and
libtool
(versions 1.5 or higher) are necessary.
On Windows platforms, binaries are available. You only have to make
sure, that the GTK+ Runtime Environment for Windows is installed on
your system.
-
Any tool for data visualization. We suggest to use
gnuplot.
Gnuplot is a command driven interactive plotting program. It
can be used to plot functions and data points in both two-
and three-dimensional plots in many different formats.
